Thank you everyone for the feedback on my blog. I am glad you all enjoy reading my blog and that you are not big poker fans because my goal was to give you an inside look at poker and not just what you see on TV. There is a lot more to it than what people think and if you do not study into and do your research and always try to improve your game, you will not be successful and thats what I love about it. I am not doing good as you can tell but thats mainly because I have not had time to review how I play and take the time to figure out what I am doing wrong but dont worry Ill get it back up again.
I played cash game the first night I was down there and had pocket kings but the other guy had pocket aces so i lost 500 on that session. This is my stack about an hour or two after I started and it is a little under 500
This is my stack about 2 hours into the World Series of Poker event I did in Atlantic City. This is about 15 thousand and we started out with 10 thousand so I was right around average
This is my stack about 4-5 hours into it and it is around 23 thousand. There was 240 people in the tournament and I finshed 62-65, I can remeber which one but they only paid 25 places so that was a 350 loss.

My friend went pretty far in a torunament last night so I decided to go down to watch him and play a little so this is my stack around $750 about 2 hours into my session at Taj Mahal Atlantic City. I broke even on the session so it was a little dissapointing but atleast I got to have fun with my friends later that night.

The World Series of Poker is in Atlantic City for the start of our spring break weekend which my friends and I will be down there Friday the 9th until Monday the 12th when it ends but right after that a series is going to be at Delaware Park starting on the 14th so I will be playing all of the tournaments that week because they are very inexpensive. Most of them are only a hundred or two, it sounds like alot but its not. Now remeber I use to play for a living un until last year. You can check out the tournaments here. http://www.delawarepark.com/pdf/schedule_web_scroll.pdf.
During this time I will make sure I take plenty of pictures like I have been this way you dont have to read these long posts.

My friend put me into a tournament at Delaware Park this past Monday. When I say he put me into a tournament it means that he puts all the money for the buy-in for me and we split the profits 50/50. This is great for me because I risk no money and can only make money. I unfortunately did not make the money. There was a little over 400 people on Monday. I made it about halfway threw so since I did not pay for this tournament I am leaving my blog total the same.

These pictures are of my stack around 2 am. This is a little bit under $800. This is at a underground club in the city so I usually wont take pictures because it looks strange but when I can I will. Now when ever I upload pics of chips, there is a universal color equaling a certain amount of money. I will start lowest to highest. White= $1, Red= $5, Green= $25, and Black= $100. Now most of the time I keep them in stacks of 100 but I got bored so started building things. I won $150 on the night and played for about 5 hours. There are mostly Russians playing just throwing money around. This game is great but can also be deadly. In this game you either walk out up thousands or down thousands depending on if thoes guys are hitting thier cards or not. This time I didnt get to get a piece of anyone but I will be heading down there tonight around midnight. I will post my results tommorow.

I got down to AC a little too late Friday morning so I could not play the tournament. I decided to just hang out that night with my friends and play cash the next morning. Cash games are completely different then tournaments. Tournaments are when you buy into the tournament for the same amount of money as anyone else. Lets say the tournament is $100 to get into so everyone will buy in for 100 and get the same amount of chips and once you loose all your chips you are knocked out and cannot get back in and you play down till there is a winner. 10% of people get paid in a tournament and the prize varies on what place you come in. Cash is when you sit down at a certain limit table and buy in anywhere from the minimum buy-in to the maximum buy-in. Now with cash you can buy-in as many times as you want and leave whenever you want as compared to a tournament where you cannot leave until all of your chips are gone. So i played cash Saturday for about 4 hours and won 1050. I have a picture of when i had my stack at a little over 1500.

Welcome
My name is Mike Taylor and welcome to my blog. I am a senior at West Chester University and I am 2 classes from finishing. I play No-Limit Texas Hold-em very often and use to play it for a living up until last year, so this blog is going to be about my poker sessions and my semester total what I am up or down(hopefully up). I go all over the USA to play but now that I am in school i usually just go to New York and Atlantic City when I can. During the week I will either go to Harrahs in Chester or some underground poker clubs in the city. I am leaving for Atlantic City after my 9 o'clock class and will be staying down there till Sunday sometime for a tournament at Borgata. I will do my best to update my blog everyday I play but i usually just do it when I can. If you have any questions about poker or anything related to what i talk about, just ask and I will be glad to try and help you. I will also post pictures this way you don't get too bored like I did for the New York post. I hope you enjoy following my blog.
